Donations of material Please contact us on the address below before sending material for Picture Sheffield. We are always looking for illustrations and photographs of the Sheffield area to add to our collections. Material can be donated, in which case the originals will be copied and then placed in protective storage. Material can also be lent for copying and the originals safely returned. If you are considering donation or loan of material to Picture Sheffield then you also need to think about the following points: - 1. Can we supply low-resolution black and white prints? We would always prefer to scan from originals or good quality photographic copies. We can scan prints or transparencies from half frame up to A3 in size. If you wish to send electronic files – then these should be TIFF files at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, and scanned at the same size as the original image. We would prefer these to be sent on CD/DVD-Rom. Please note: - our E-mail system places restrictions on the size of E-mail attachments which it can handle; therefore it is not usually possible to retrieve files sent by E-mail. If you have any material that you think might be suitable please email us with details on localstudies.library@sheffield.gov.uk |
